This policy explains how VitaLift collects, uses, stores, and protects information for coaches, clients, visitors, and public coach pages.

Controller and contact

VitaLift is the data controller for the platform account, security, billing, support, public website, and product-improvement processing it determines.

Coaches may act as independent controllers for their own coaching services and as recipients of client data shared through the coach-client relationship.

Information we collect

Account & Contact Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, profile picture, and language preferences. This information is linked to your identity and used for core app functionality.

Health & Fitness Data: We collect information you provide about your physical activity, body metrics (weight, height, body fat, measurements), nutrition logs, sleep, and other health-related habits. This data is used to provide personalized coaching guidance.

Sensitive Information: Certain health-related data you provide may be considered sensitive. We process this information with your consent only to deliver the coaching services you have requested.

User Content: We store photos and videos you upload, such as progress photos or exercise technique videos, when you choose to share them in VitaLift.

Communications: We store messages, attachments, and feedback exchanged between coaches and clients within the VitaLift workspace.

Device & Notification Data: When you enable notifications, we store push notification tokens, device platform details, and notification preferences so we can deliver coach messages, program updates, and workout reminders to your device.

How we use information

We use your information to operate the VitaLift platform, connect coaches with their clients, deliver personalized programs, and facilitate secure communications.

Data is used for core app functionality, including account management, progress tracking, payment processing, and providing technical support.

If you use food-photo analysis or related AI-assisted nutrition features, the images you submit may be processed to generate approximate nutrition suggestions or meal metadata for your workspace. These outputs are coaching aids only and are not medical advice.

We may use aggregated or de-identified information to improve our coaching workflows and platform reliability without identifying individual users.

Legal bases

Account, security, authentication, support, and platform operation are processed to perform the contract with users and to protect VitaLift’s legitimate security interests.

Health-related, nutrition, body metric, progress-photo, and similar sensitive information is processed with explicit user consent and only for the requested coaching and tracking features.

Billing, invoices, tax records, fraud prevention, and legal requests are processed to comply with legal obligations and to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

Analytics cookies are used only with consent on eligible public pages.

Sharing and processors

Coach-Client Sharing: Clients' coaching data is shared directly with their designated coach to enable the coaching relationship.

Service Providers: We share data with trusted partners for hosting and object storage (Amazon Web Services / Google Cloud), authentication, payment processing (Stripe), push delivery (Expo), AI-assisted food-photo processing (Replicate), and transactional email delivery.

Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the safety and rights of our users and the platform.

International transfers

Some processors may operate outside France or the European Economic Area, including payment, hosting, analytics, AI-assisted image processing, authentication, notification, and email providers.

Where required, VitaLift should rely on appropriate safeguards such as European Commission standard contractual clauses, adequacy decisions, or equivalent transfer mechanisms.

Retention and security

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with services and maintain business records.

You may request account deletion at any time through the app settings or by contacting us. Account deletion is designed to remove your active profile, progress data, messages, uploads, and other coaching records associated with your account.

Some limited operational, fraud-prevention, or legally required payment/accounting records may be retained when necessary to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes.

We use technical and organizational safeguards to protect your data, though no internet-based service can guarantee 100% security.

Retention periods

Account and workspace data is kept while the account is active, then deleted or anonymized after account deletion unless a longer retention period is required by law.

Invoices, payment, accounting, tax, and dispute records may be retained for the legal periods applicable to accounting, tax, fraud prevention, and legal claims.

Security logs are retained only for the period necessary to protect the platform and investigate incidents.

Analytics consent choices are retained locally in your browser until cleared or replaced by a later choice.

Your privacy choices

You can access and update your account information directly within your workspace settings.

Mobile app permissions (such as camera, photo library, notifications, and, when recording a video attachment, microphone access) can be managed through your device settings at any time.

You have the right to request a copy of your data or ask for its correction or deletion.

Depending on your location and the processing concerned, you may also have rights to object, restrict processing, withdraw consent, portability, and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority such as the CNIL in France.

Automated decisions

VitaLift does not make legal or similarly significant decisions about users solely through automated processing.

AI-assisted food-photo outputs are approximate coaching aids and should be reviewed by the user and coach before being relied on.
